The Spiaggia dell'Occhiale is a small cove on the Costa degli Dei, famous for the perforated rock rising from the sea and for its clear, intensely coloured waters.
The Spiaggia dell'Occhiale lies along the coast of Briatico and is one of the most distinctive and recognisable beaches on the Vibonese stretch of the Costa degli Dei. It takes its name from the perforated rock that rises a few metres from the shore, whose shape resembles a large eye looking out to sea. The beach features a natural and little-developed environment, with stretches of sand mixed with pebbles and a gently sloping seabed. The sea is extremely transparent and takes on hues ranging from emerald green to deep blue, making this cove ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The Occhiale rock is the iconic element of the place and creates an evocative and much-photographed scene, especially in the warm light hours.
