A journey through vineyards and cellars to discover the winemaking tradition of the province of Vibo Valentia.
The province of Vibo Valentia has its roots in the history of Ancient Greece, when this part of Calabria was known as Oenotria, the land of wine. Already in Greek times, vine cultivation was central to the life of the territory, favoured by a unique position between sea and hills. Since then wine has always accompanied the daily life of local communities: work in the fields, family tables, festivals and moments of sharing. In the Vibonese area this heritage has remained alive mainly through farming families who have continued to cultivate the vine, respecting nature's rhythms. The experience takes place inside a local winery, immersed in the vineyards of the Vibonese hills. The route begins outdoors, walking among the rows, learning about the deep connection between landscape, climate and the grapes grown. The visit continues in the production and ageing areas, with a straightforward account of the work in the cellar. The experience concludes with a guided tasting of wines from the province of Vibo Valentia.
